Troubleshooting Your Summit Appliance

*NOT COOLING/RUNNING

    • Check to see that appliance is plugged in.
    • Check circuit breaker or fuse in electrical panel
    • Make sure thermostat is not on zero
    • Check GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) is not tripped on outdoor units. If tripped, press reset button on GFCI before turining on unit GFCI will trip in the event of a power failure, shutdown, or thunderstorm

*FOOD TEMP TOO WARM

    • Check gaskets for proper seal.
    • If new allow 48 hours to adjust.
    • Adjust temperature control to colder setting.

*WATER NOT DRAINING/WATER ON BOTTOM INSIDE OF REFRIGERATOR

    • Check for obstruction in drain through inside on back wall.
    • Check tubing in rear of unit for obstruction.
    • Pour hot water into the drain through to see if it will clear.

*DOOR NOT SEALING

    • Check for food obstructing door closure.
    • Check door gaskets.
    • Check for alignment of door hinges.

*LEAKING

    • Check to make sure the drain pan is in place and not cracked or broken "Drain pan is in rear of unit, usually above compressor".
    • Adjust leveling legs in the front for enough front to back angle.
    • Make sure the rear tubing is tight and not cracked.

*CONDENSATION

    • Ensure door is closing properly.
    • Prolonged or frequent door openings.

*NOISY

  • The following sounds are normal and indicate your refrigerator is operating properly:

 

1. Temperature control
Temperature control clicks when starting or stopping compressor.

2. Evaporator
"Evaporator refrigerant flow gurgles, pops or sounds like boiling water."

3. Evaporator fan motor
Evaporator sounds like rushing air.

4. Compressor
Compressor has a high pitch hum or pulsating sound.

5. Defrost Heater
"Sizzling, hissing or popping sounds."

6. Defrost Drain Pan
Dripping sounds is defrosting water falling onto drain pan.

7. Defrost Timer
Automatic timer sounds like an electronic clock that snaps in and out of the defrost cycle.
